The HILBA universal camera was a bestseller from 1947 until the early eighties. The focusing screen camera with double tube base board camera was compact, universally deployable and yet robust.

In 1947 the first of a total of 600 units were delivered. The main sales market was Switzerland. The camera, which was extremely light for its time, was mainly used for outdoor photography as well as for travel and expeditions.
